Aptos Partners with Stripe to Integrate USDC Payments, Enhancing Fiat On-Ramp Capabilities
Aptos (APT), a layer-1 blockchain, just announced an exciting plan. They’re integrating payment services from Stripe along with the stablecoin USDC.
According to their latest press release, Stripe will provide a fiat on-ramp for the Aptos network. This means users will have an easier way to convert their traditional money into digital assets.
Jeremy Allaire, the CEO of Circle, shared his enthusiasm about this development. He mentioned that it's part of their effort to scale USDC. He said, “USDC + CCTP + Aptos = high-performance, very powerful programmable money infrastructure. Excited for the upcoming launch!”
Last month, Stripe made a comeback in the crypto world by supporting USDC settlements. They previously allowed payments with Bitcoin (BTC) until 2018, but stopped due to Bitcoin’s limited use as a payment method.
As of now, Aptos’ native token, APT, is trading at $11.98. It’s currently ranked 27th by market cap. In the past 24 hours, APT has seen a nearly 1% drop. However, it’s up about 6.5% over the past week and more than 15.8% in the last month.
Even with these recent gains, APT is still nearly 40% below its all-time high of $19.92, which it reached in January 2023. It’s clear that while there’s progress, there’s still a way to go.
