Heather Morgan, known as the rapper "Razzlekhan," has been sentenced to 18 months in prison. This is for her involvement in the Bitfinex crypto exchange hack, according to Bloomberg. The sentencing took place on Monday in a court in Washington, D.C.

Her husband, Ilya "Dutch" Lichtenstein, received a five-year prison sentence last week for his part in the same case. He was charged with conspiracy to commit money laundering and conspiracy to defraud the United States.

Prosecutors stated that Morgan played a smaller role in the money laundering scheme. They recommended a shorter sentence for her compared to Lichtenstein's. Importantly, Morgan was not involved in the actual hack, as reported by Bloomberg.

The couple faced accusations of laundering bitcoin worth $4 billion at the time of its seizure, which was linked to the 2016 Bitfinex hack. Before her arrest, Morgan wrote columns offering advice on protecting businesses from cybercriminals and improving social engineering tactics.

The government claimed that in August 2016, Lichtenstein and Morgan conspired to launder 119,754 bitcoin, valued at nearly $71 million back then. Both of them pleaded guilty in August 2023.
